The Cottonmouth veteran discount is for non-active veterans: anyone who has served in any branch of the United States military and has since separated or retired, regardless of when or how long you served. This includes:

There is no requirement for combat deployment, specific MOS, length of service, or discharge type beyond what is reflected in your documentation. If your paperwork confirms military service, you qualify.

Accepted Documentation

We accept multiple forms of military service verification to make the process as accessible as possible. You only need to present one of the following documents one time. After verification, your discount is stored permanently in your account.

• DD-214 — Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. The most common verification document.
• VA letter — Any official correspondence from the Department of Veterans Affairs that confirms veteran status.
• Military ID — Retired-service or other military identification card.
• State driver's license with veteran designation — New Jersey and many other states offer a veteran marker on state-issued IDs. This is sufficient proof.
• VetVerify or ID.me digital verification — If you have verified your veteran status through VetVerify, ID.me, or a similar digital verification platform, show the confirmation on your phone.

Our budtenders handle veteran verification discreetly and respectfully. The process takes approximately 30 seconds. Your documentation is viewed only for verification purposes and is not copied, photographed, or stored.

How to Activate Your Veteran Discount

2. Present your valid 21+ ID along with one accepted form of military verification
3. Your budtender will flag your account as a verified veteran
4. The veteran discount is applied to your current transaction and every future transaction
5. On subsequent visits, simply present your regular ID. The veteran discount applies automatically.

If you are also a first-time customer at Cottonmouth, the first-time discount is the larger saving on your initial visit. Ask your budtender which discount applies; one discount is applied per transaction.

• Other category discounts — If you qualify for multiple categories (e.g., veteran + senior), the highest single discount applies. Discounts do not combine.
• Daily deals — Ask your budtender how daily deals interact with your veteran discount.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to verify my service every time I visit?

No. Verification is a one-time process. Once your account is flagged, the discount applies automatically on every future visit when you present your regular ID.

I lost my DD-214. Can I still get the discount?

Yes. We accept multiple forms of verification. A VA letter, state ID with veteran designation, or digital verification through ID.me or VetVerify all work. You can also request a replacement DD-214 through the National Personnel Records Center.

Does the discount apply to glass art pieces?

Yes. The veteran discount applies to all products in the store, including handmade glass art from our in-house studio.

Can my spouse or family member use my veteran discount?

The discount is tied to the verified veteran's account and applies only to purchases made by the account holder. Family members are welcome to shop with us and may qualify for other discounts such as the first-time customer discount.

I am active duty. Do I qualify?

The posted veteran discount is for non-active (separated or retired) veterans. If you are currently serving, ask at the counter about which discounts you may qualify for.

Is this discount available for online orders?

Yes. Once your account is verified, the discount applies whether you order in-store, at the pickup window, or through online ordering for in-store pickup.
